Charles L. Ruff, Jr.

Savannah- Mr. Claude L. Ruff, Jr., 86, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Tara at Thunderbolt Nursing Center.
He was born and raised in Newberry South Carolina and a graduate of Newberry College. Mr. Ruff moved to Savannah when he was 25 and worked for over 39 years with Savannah Electric Power Company where he retired as superintendent of Plant Kraft in Port Wentworth. Mr. Ruff was very active in his church, Grace United Methodist Church, where he served in many positions. He was an avid bowler and golfer and will be remembered for being stern but loving and giving.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Ruff of Savannah; son, Timothy James Ruff of Eden; step-children, Deloris Bias Jim of Bluffton and Todd Holder Angel of Brunswick; grandchildren, Amanda Marie Ruff, Timothy James Ruff, II, Jessica Holder, Zachary Holder and one great-grandchild, Lila Holder.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 24, 2008 at the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 25 at Grace United Methodist Church with Reverend J. Michael Culbreth officiating.
Burial: Goshen United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that remembrances be made to Grace United Methodist Church 6412 Waters Ave., Savannah, GA 31406 or to a charity of choice.
